Natalie Ryan > Case study

Natalie has exhibited at Linden several times including entering the Linden Postcard Show in 2008, 2011 and 2012. Natalie has also exhibited in Innovators 1, 2009 and Wish You Were Here, 2014. As an early career artist, Natalie considered exhibiting at Linden an important moment in her career as it encouraged exposure of her work in an established public art gallery. Natalie benefitted from exhibiting at Linden through gaining experience dealing with gallery professionals; and by the production of a catalogue that she was able to distribute to curators and industry personal, post exhibition. On reflection, Natalie says, “The most important thing about working with Linden has been my experience with the professional and passionate staff and the generous privilege of a free studio space.” Natalie was a recipient of the Linden Studio Residency Program and she believed, “the studio was a great platform, not only in the creation of work, but also as means to conduct appointments with curators and arts industry persons.” Since exhibiting at Linden, Natalie has been featured on ABC Televisions 'Art Nation Program', curated into exhibitions at public galleries, commercial galleries, regional galleries, art fairs and Artist Run Initiatives. Natalie has also been a finalist in several art prizes and a recipient of a cross-disciplinary Medical and Art residency at Monash University in Gippsland. Natalie would highly recommend Linden to other artists and believes the professional nature of Linden helped raise my profile within the arts community.” Natalie believes, “the initiative of a studio residency program and paying artists fees makes Linden an essential and innovative Australian gallery that sets the standard for others to follow.” Please find out more about Natalie Ryan > HERE
