The winner of the Bendigo Bank award of $5,000.00 was Hana Rajkovic who migrated to Australia from Serbia in 2009. Her work It’s Like Peanut Butter, was inspired by a story from a friend who also migrated to Australia as a child. The story reflects on her mother feeding the newly migrated children vegemite yet not having tasted it first. After complaints from the children, her mother exclaimed, ‘what, it’s just like peanut butter!’
