The Linden Workshop is a community studio space for hire. It is commonly used for tutored life drawing classes, painting classes and craft activities.

ACCESS to equipment


The Linden Workshop is situated at the rear of Linden New Art and has a reverse air-conditioning unit for heating and cooling. Access to shared public toilets and a kitchen, including shared fridge access is available. A large sink with running water is also provided. There is a small private area for life drawing models to use just off the main space.

Linden has recently upgraded the Linden Workshop space including equipment:

  • 20 x stackable chairs
  • 6 x trestle tables
  • 15 x easels
  • 15 x MDF drawing boards


The Linden Workshop has several power points within the space. All electrical equipment such as fans, overhead projectors or additional heaters used within the space must be tested and tagged.

Hirers are welcome to move furniture around in the space for their desired set up, however the space must be returned to its original set up with all furniture returned to their stored locations.  

Please note > No candles or naked flames are allowed in this room.


Venue availability


The space is available from 7.00am - 9.00pm, seven days a week.


Hire Fees


During office hours (Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM):

  • Not For Profit Rate: $40.00 + GST P/h
  • Commercial Rate: $60.00 + GST P/h

Outside of Office Hours (All other times):

  • Not For Profit Rate: $50.00 + GST P/h
  • Commercial Rate: $75.00 + GST P/h

Hirers will be invoiced prior to their booked session and Linden must receive payment prior to use

To Note


> The minimum booking time is 3-hours.

> All bookings must begin and finish on the hour – for example 4.00pm - 5.00pm.

> Set up and pack down must be included in the hire time.

> Any alteration or extension of times must be discussed with the gallery prior to using the booked room. Any breach of security or conditions will result in cancellation of any Hire Agreement.

> Hirers are advised that these conditions of hire may be altered or extended by Linden without notice, at any time, and be provided on our website.
